For Surf Coast Shire Council

About Me
Following is a little about me and how I think we can work together to ensure Council deliver on the priorities that we set as a community.
Background
I’m Surf Coast born and raised, having lived in Jan Juc, Bellbrae, Freshwater Creek, and Torquay. From riding club to the beach, growing up I enjoyed all the Shire had to offer. I loved getting to know the locals working at the old Campsite Milkbar on Bell Street, Torquay, whic...(Read More)
Experience
I recently stepped down as Chief Experience Officer at BlueFit, where we managed private and local government owned aquatic and recreation facilities. My experience will be particularly relevant to our own Aquatic Centre project, but more broadly my work with other Council...(Read More)

What I Stand For
As your representative, I will listen to the issues that matter to you and bring them to Council. My goal is to achieve outcomes that reflect our community’s needs. Along with your concerns, here are some areas I’m most passionate about and hope we can tackle together.
Environmental Protection
Climate Action:
Protecting our coastlines, forests, wetlands, and wildlife is crucial to maintaining the Surf Coast’s natural beauty.

Opposition to Overdevelopment:
We need careful planning to protect green spaces and wildlife, ensuring large-scale developments don’t harm our environment.
Urban Planning & Development

Sustainable Growth:
I support growth that balances development with preserving the unique character of our towns and rural areas.

Affordable Housing:
We need solutions to make housing more accessible, especially for locals who are being priced out, while managing the impact of growth on infrastructure and existing neighbourhoods.
Community Services & Infrastructure
Improvement of Local Infrastructure:
It’s essential to maintain local roads, public transport, and recreational spaces while enhancing community services for residents and visitors alike.

Tourism Management:
We must balance the needs of residents and tourists, managing traffic, litter, and preserving public amenities. The Surf Coast must always be a destination of choice.
Social & Community Wellbeing
Community Services:
Addressing social issues, including support for youth, growing families, the elderly, and mental health, is vital.

Supporting Local Business:
Thriving local businesses contribute to the prosperity of our region and keep the Surf Coast a great place to live.

Embracing Diversity
The Surf Coast is home to 40K individuals, each deserving of respect and representation, no matter their background, beliefs, or identity.
